As relief efforts continue following the earthquakes in Haiti, K-C has announced the company will match all worldwide employee donations to the American Red Cross’s Haitian relief efforts dollar-for-dollar up to $300,000. The employee matching program is just the latest step K-C has taken in its disaster relief efforts for the people of Haiti. Other efforts have included partnering with the American Red Cross and MedShare and mobilizing product donations.
Kimberly-Clark employees pull together for a successful national United Way campaign
Despite a challenging economic year for the country and millions of individual families, Kimberly-Clark employees across the U.S. donned their creative hats in late 2009 and designed campaigns that raised more than $5.5 million for the only charity we support with a U.S.-wide workplace giving effort: the United Way.
This year’s campaign was one of the most successful in the history of the company’s support of the United Way. K-C’s nearly 14,000 U.S. employees contributed almost $2.6 million in gifts and pledges to the organization. These donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Kimberly-Clark Corporation. In addition, employees at these facilities raised another $400,000 from special events – golf tournaments, festivals, carnivals, live and silent auctions, pie-throwing contests, road rallies and more – to engage employees, provide another way for them to give, and make supporting the United Way fun.
