A state of the art MC-ICPMS laboratory (Thermo Finnigan Neptune) is operated jointly with the neighbouring Earth Science Department at the University of Bonn since early 2008, where a single collector laser ICPMS system will also become available shortly. The existing analytical equipment also includes XRF, electron microprobe, and an experimental laboratory. In close collaboration with the Earth Science department at Bonn, we offer a wide range of research fields, including mass exchange processes in the Earth's crust and mantle, early Earth evolution, and cosmochemistry.
