Education: Completion of high school, Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Not applicable, Not required Experience: 5 years or more Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English Work Setting: Petroleum and natural gas processing company, Pipeline and petrochemical company, Agricultural company, Specialty chemical company, Pharmaceutical company, Petroleum refining plant, Heavy oil refining plant, Industrial inorganic chemicals plant Specific Skills: Monitor and optimize physical and chemical process for several processing units, Control process start-up, shut-down and troubleshooting, Monitor outside process equipment, Adjust equipment, valves, pumps and controls and process equipment, Shut down, isolate and prepare process units or production equipment for maintenance, Sample products, perform tests and record data, Carry out statistical process control on process operations, Develop operator procedures for normal operation, start-up or shut-down, Provide emergency response when required, Rotate between different processing units during shift cycles, Work in a team with shared supervisory responsibilities Additional Skills: Participate in training of other workers, Write production logs, Participate in safety audits and programs Security and Safety: Medical exam Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods Work Site Environment: Dusty, Odours Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence, Own transportation, Own vehicle Work Location Information: Remote location Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning Other Information: Must be an experienced mixer.
