We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Drill Site Manager at our Elk Hills business unit. This position is responsible for providing supervision and oversight of the day to day execution of all drill site operations ensuring that all work is performed safely, with environmental sensitivity, and in a cost effective manner.
Responsibilities include:
* Provide daily oversight of all contract and service company personnel, and coordination with Superintendent, Engineering staff, cross-functional teams and HES staff to execute drill site operations.
* Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with Oxy HES policies, guidelines, and procedures as well as governmental regulations.
* Optimize the efficiency of drilling operations.
* Ensure proper well control at all times and in accordance with Oxy standards.
* Review well programs and provide operational feedback
* Oversee down hole operations and troubleshooting.
* Coordinate logistics, equipment and materials.
* Ensure documentation and reporting of drilling operations.
* Manage cost control of drilling operations.
* Communication link to key individuals, departments, and agencies.
* On-duty supervisor for unit HES issues/incidents.
* Oversee on-site contract management for all drilling operations.
* Approve Unit transactions within area of responsibility as shown and assures compliance with Approval Authorization Expectations.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree or equivalent related work experience in drilling operations.
* Minimum of 10 years work experience as a supervisor of drilling rigs in an oil field environment.
* Ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment.
* Fundamental knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office Suite software and ability to learn and effectively use drilling Management Data Systems (OpenWells).
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
