Position Summary
The primary role of this position is to provide administrative and technical EHS services and support to Hess Global Drilling and Completions (GDC) in the development, application and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health and Safety Management.

Responsibilities
Provide EHS support to Hess GDC and work projects as needed. The successful applicant will work directly with the regional Hess Drilling Manager and will also be responsible for the hiring and supervision of contractor EHS specialists aboard each rig.

EHS Drilling Support
Provide visible EHS support to Hess GDC Operations. Visit the rigs on a frequent and regular schedule to develop a team member relationship with the crews and to assist them in recognizing and minimizing potential hazards.

Hazard and Risk Management and Compliance
Assure Risk Management / Assessments are implemented and effective in accordance with Hess E&P and Global Drilling and Completions Risk Management Key Process.
Assure compliance with legislative and corporate policies are implemented through application of regulations, Hess EHS Management System, the GDC Minimum Standards, Environmental Compliance, permitting, induction process and Management of Change procedure.

Training
Assist in EHS Training as needed by operations, Tap Root, Synergy, etc.
Assist with the presentation of the Hess Quarterly EHS Meetings and the Hess Drill Rig Safety Meetings on a periodic basis
Conduct GD EHS Orientation as needed for GDC new hires, Hess and consultants

Contractor Management
Conduct EHS Reviews of potential and existing Drilling Contractors
Assist with contractor safety management process
Develop and manage the EHS Way Forward Plan and Project Line Action Items for all new drill programs to ensure EHS regulatory, environmental, health and safety requirements are in place as required by Hess and regulatory agencies of location.

Emergency Preparedness
Assure that the emergency response program is in place and functioning

Incident Reporting and Investigation
Manage the Hess Synergy Database by reviewing all incidents reported for GDC, ensuring investigations are completed as required, action items are applicable and completed as planned
Review EHS performance of Drilling Operations on a routine basis and develop and communicate EHS Trending and Improvement Reporting
Monitor implementation and completion of corrective actions

Auditing/Inspections (Advise, Audit, Verify)
Routine EHS visits to each rig to meet with rig crews and review EHS compliance, safety, environmental, health and other improvement areas
Conduct a Hess Annual Global Drilling EHS Audit with Drilling Manger on each rig
Conduct verification reviews of the Drilling EHS Management System and EHS Bridging Documents using the Hess Verification Checklists for those documents. Identify gaps and develop and complete action plan as needed.

Qualifications

Skills / Competencies:
Working knowledge of EHS Management Systems, OSHA, and other applicable regulations to drilling industry
Strong written, verbal and PC skills (Office Suite)

Experience:
5 plus years working knowledge and experience in E&P field operations, land based and offshore drilling operations experience preferred.

Education / Training:
Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline is preferred
