Due to our successful undertaking of a rock physics study for multiple clients we are now recruiting for the following post:
Junior Geoscientist (Log analyst)
Remit is to carry out Geoscience projects under the direction of the QIS Manager, in a timely and profitable manner. Reports to QIS Manager/ Team Leader.
Junior Geoscietist/Log analysis. Activities include: Collect, ensure quality control and load well data to project well data bases. Wireline log data loading, analysis and quality control. When required, perform log editing, log depth matching and log splicing. Creation of composite plots and report writing. Other QI activities maybe required as directed by the QIS Manager/Team Leader.
The Geoscientist shall be responsible for
* Working within a small team to complete projects to clients' requirements and to high technical standards.
* Liaison with clients, and project results presentation
* Helping to expanding the service business in liaison with Sales
* Assisting in producing in-house case studies and presentation examples
* Testing new versions of Ikon software
Skills requirements
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Experience in working to deadlines
* Keen to meet new people and actively participate in company growth
* 4Ability to write concise reports
* Enthusiasm for acquiring and completing revenue generating projects
Experience
* 1 - 5 years oil industry experience (North Sea and EAME)
* Preferably higher degree level in Geology, Geophysics or other earth or physical science, with the minimum requirement is a good honours degree, or an MSc, in a Geoscience discipline
* Ability to work within a small team environment
* Good time management skills, well organised, with an eye for detail
* Experienced in well data management and log analysis techniques
* Some petrophysical knowledge an advantage.
* A good working knowledge of Geolog or equivalent application
