The Petroleum Institute (PI) in Abu Dhabi is seeking applications for the position of Laboratory Engineer in the Petroleum Engineering Department.
Position Description: The successful candidates will primarily maintain and run undergraduate laboratories in the areas of rock and fluid properties, reservoir engineering and production engineering. Set up experiments and supervise students during lab sessions and handle any aspect of lab preparation as needed. They may also be involved in running and maintaining equipment in the research laboratories.
Responsibilities include: Leading or assisting with laboratory practical sessions including HSE issues? preparing equipment and experimental set ups for measurement and lab sessions. Preparing laboratory manuals and standard laboratory procedures under faculty and senior engineer's supervision. Grading laboratory reports and assisting in laboratory related activities. Ensuring quality control, routine equipment maintenance and safety procedures and inventory management. Organizing and cataloging lab and sample materials. Other support duties as required.
Qualifications:
* B.Sc. in any engineering field with proven abilities in a laboratory setting
* Background in Petroleum Engineering is preferred and experience is desirable
* Excellent written and oral skills in English
* Ability to work effectively with faculty and students

Salary/Benefits: The total compensation package includes a tax-free 12-month base salary, and a benefits allowance that covers relocation, housing, initial furnishings, utilities; transportation (automobile purchase loan), health insurance, end-of-service benefit and annual leave travel.
