Job Description

The Petroleum Institute (PI) in Abu Dhabi is seeking applications for the position of Laboratory Technician in the Petroleum Engineering Department.

Position Description: The successful candidate will primarily service and maintain the program teaching and research lab equipment, and assist with laboratory teaching. Responsibilities include monitoring lab equipment maintenance schedule and conducting preventive and routine maintenance and modification, if necessary, of lab equipment and experimental set ups. Calibrating and preparing equipment for lab sections and coordinating with faculty/senior engineers and making certain that the Petroleum Engineering laboratories are set up and ready for classes. Assisting in implementing laboratory programs to complement Petroleum Engineering courses. Ability to install and maintain Petroleum Engineering software would be an advantage. Assisting with purchasing, organizing and cataloging lab and sample materials? other support duties as required.

Qualifications:

* Trade diploma in an engineering area
* Excellent written and oral skills in English
* Ability to work effectively with faculty and students

The Petroleum Institute (PI) was created in 2001 with the goal of establishing itself as a world-class institution in engineering education and research in areas of significance to the oil and gas and the broader energy industries. Salary/Benefits: The total compensation package includes a tax-free 12-month base salary, and a benefits allowance that covers relocation, housing, initial furnishings, utilities; transportation (automobile purchase loan), health insurance, end-of-service benefit and annual leave travel.
