JOB SUMMARY:
The BLM manages more land - approximately 253 million acres - than any other Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western states, including Alaska. The Bureau, with a budget of about $1 billion, also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estates throughout the nation. If selected for this position you will begin an extensive training program designed to ensure your success as a field inspector in the gas and oil program for the BLM. The full performance level of these positions is the GS-10 level. You do not have to compete for promotion, however, before you can be promoted to the full performance level, you must successfully progress through the training plan that leads to your successful completion of the formal BLM certification program. Promotions are not automatic, but dependent upon successful performance and supervisory recommendation.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

U.S. Citizenship is required.
Security Clearance/Background Investigation is required.
