Petroleum Hydrogeologist
We are seeking a Petroleum Hydrogeologist to support our consulting services group in the implementation, completion and delivery of integrated geoscience studies. The ideal candidate will have an advanced geoscience degree with strength in well test analysis, hydrodynamic interpretation, petroleum exploration, and petroleum database analysis and integration.
Domestic, frontier and international experience would also be considered an asset. A candidate with Professional status is preferred.
Tasks:
Screening, quality control and quality analysis of petroleum geological, hydrogeological and geochemical data
Identification and interpretation of subsurface hydrogeological systems using proprietary Canadian Discovery Ltd. software
Relating hydrogeological interpretations to sequence stratigraphic models
Integrating hydrogeological interpretations with reservoir characterization models
Designing writing and completing consulting reports
Supervision and training of junior geological staff
Support of marketing initiatives and new business development
Knowledge and Skills:
Database management and software skills
Petrophysical training and expertise would be an asset
Familiarity with IHS/AccuMap and GeoScout platforms
An understanding of sequence stratigraphic principles
English language proficiency and strong technical writing skills
Ability to meet project timelines
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Education and Work Experience:
Graduate geosciences degree and/or five or more years of relevant industry experience
