Post-Doctoral Research Fellows (2 positions)

The Economic Geology research Unit in the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, is commencing a project to study gold mineralization in the Tanzanian craton in conjunction with a major mining company.

The project will assess regional and local controls on the distribution of gold. There are 2 postdoctoral positions available that will involve geological mapping, petrography, structural and metamorphic analysis, geochronology, geochemistry and geophysics. The majority of time will be spent on fieldwork in Tanzania, with periodic visits to Townsville for laboratory analysis.

Employment Type: Appointment will be full-time for a fixed-term of 2 years (Research) subject to a probationary period.

Salary: Academic Level A - $65,668 - $70,271 per annum. Commencing salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience. Benefits include generous employer superannuation contribution and attractive options for salary packaging.
