Essential Job Duties:
The Safety Advisor will work as part of a team of professionals with expertise in Health, Environmental, Safety and Security (HESS). Individual will primarily provide support to enhance the safety performance of Occidental of Elk Hills, Inc.'s (OEHI) Gas Operations activities. In addition, this position will manage OEHI's Behavior-Based Safety Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
* Analyze and communicate key safety information, data results and requirements to OEHI and Contractor personnel working on Gas Operations related projects.
* Provide Cal/OSHA compliance safety oversight for Gas Operations related OEHI and Contractor employee activities.
* Review Gas Operations work processes and provide continuous improvement recommendations.
* Participate in PSM related MOC, PHA, PSSR and design review meetings.
* Manage and facilitate continuous improvement efforts for OEHI’s Behavior-Based Safety Program.
* Responsible for Gas Operations related training, including scheduling, module development and analysis of feedback.
* Assist with gas operations industrial hygiene related monitoring, as requested.
* Responsible for gas operations related incident investigations and documentation activities, as requested.
* Participate on OEHI’s Emergency Response Team
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field of study or equivalent HES experience in Oil and Gas Industry.
* Minimum of 5 years of HES related work experience.
* Demonstated experience and successful results leading a behavioral based safety program.
* Knowledge of OSHA/CalOSHA health and safety regulatory compliance requirements.
* Experience with safe work system process activities.
* Demonstrated achievement in development and implementation of safety related programs with positive results.
* Strong computer skills; proficiency with MS Office applications.
* Ability to work independently and strive for continuous improvement of work processes.
* Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
