You will join a long established and vibrant international research group of staff and PhD students working on stratigraphic problems worldwide for a 1-year position to support field-based research into the stratigraphic and sedimentological characterisation of a range of depositional environments, exceptionally well exposed in the Karoo Basin, South Africa.
Fieldwork will involve digital data collection methods. Computer literacy is desirable, although appropriate training will be given. A full driving licence is required. The position is available from February 2011, or as soon as possible afterwards, with first fieldwork in April-May.
