Dansk Shell A/S, Copenhagen, Denmark

Enthusiastic Geoscientist wanted for Part Time role in Nærum, North of Copenhagen

We are looking for a Geoscientist to be part of an international technical team of 10 persons. The team is supporting the development opportunities and addressing potential upsides in the Danish portfolio of the Danish North Sea Fields.

Shell is part of the joint venture Dansk Undergrunds Consortium (DUC) together with A.P. Møller-Mærsk (operator) and Chevron. DUC’s licence covers more than half of Denmark’s licensed offshore area. Currently the venture produces more than 80% of Denmark’s oil and gas.

Your main accountabilities are to contribute technically to the joint venture. You will be responsible for all in house exploration evaluations, and defining and seeking specialist inputs as required. You will review and formulate a Shell view of technical work in support of exploration and appraisal activities. This includes carrying out geological and geophysical analyses, and providing input to integrated subsurface studies (both internally and possibly with venture partners). In addition you should help identify technologies that could support the Danish E&P activities and initiate uptake in the venture.

Education and experience required:
We expect you to have an MSc or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, Physics or other relevant education - and more than 5 years industry experience. Required in-depth exposure to a broad range of geological and geophysical technologies with hands-on experience of exploration prospect evaluation, in an integrated exploration/development environment, including:

* Skills in seismic interpretation, quantitative interpretation, geological modelling, and evaluating pre-drill risks and volumes.
* Geo-mechanical expertise is considered a plus.
* Knowledge of seismic acquisition, petrophysics and non-seismic geophysical methods.
* Track record of discipline integration, in combination with pursuit of discipline excellence.
* Good knowledge and understanding of other sub-surface disciplines.

In addition we are also looking for well-developed inter-personal skills, with a “can-do” attitude.

If you are looking for new challenges and would like to work in an international team please send your application to Personale-dk@shell.com not later than 17th May 2010.
