Beca Geotechnical' s hydrogeology team is one of the most highly regarded in New Zealand, as evidenced by our rapidly expanding hydrogeology client portfolio. We are working on a number of interesting projects throughout New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific Regionand currently have a vacancy for a Senior Hydrogeologist to join the growing Auckland team.
Our team is skilled in the development of groundwater for public and industrial water supply (deep groundwater bores), ASR and abstraction and reinjection of groundwater. We also focus on identifying, evaluating, mapping, modelling and monitoring the effects of construction on groundwater flow; mitigating potential effects on groundwater through a range of strategies in conjunction with design teams (tunnels, dams, foundations and excavations).
In this role you will:
Scope and manage field investigations including drilling crews on site.
Undertake data analysis for input to groundwater flow modelling.
Develop simple to complex seepage and groundwater flow computer models.
Prepare and administer technical specs and contract documents.
Communicate with our clients and the public alike.
The successful applicant will need:
Intermediate to Senior level of experience working on hydrogeology projects.
Experience in field testing and investigations of wells and well sites.
Proficiency in 2-3 dimensional groundwater modelling.
Proven ability managing and working with contractors.
Demonstrated skill in mentoring and developing junior staff.
Professional communication skills written and verbal.
