Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering
* APEGGA membership
* 20+ years of varied engineering experience including drilling, completions & work-over; production; process; and reservoir.
* Leadership experience
* Ability to influence those in other departments where a solid reporting relationship does not exist.
* Strong team player
* Enjoys both strategic and hands-on involvement
* Strong record of apply project management technology to planning and execution
* A self-starter
* Spanish language an asset.
Duties:
* Track record of enhancing health safety and environment performance
* Apply a wide range of very current oil and gas engineering technology, from multiple engineering disciplines, in identify and realizing value from South America opportunities that may not be readily observable.
* Strong knowledge of offshore oil & gas development.
* Experience creating development plans and cost scenarios, including software expertise, for onshore and offshore project development.
* Merger and acquisitions experience including ability to identify value from data room information.
* Recognize key business drivers that create value by understanding different fiscal regimes and how to maximize value within them.
* Working with minimal data, conduct sound project evaluations based on experience, analogs, and sound engineering principles.
* Back up for Reserve Booking
* Run Reservoir model
* Coach and develop junior engineers from Canada and South America
* Back fill for Manager Reservoir Engineering
* Experience in South America desirable
* Non-conventional oil and gas experience desirable.
* A track record of bringing forward high potential business opportunities.
* Approximately quarterly to South America for durations of up to two weeks
