POSITION SUMMARY:
* The position leads one of three Areas of production operations for the ND Production organization
* The position reports to the Manager, Operations - ND, and supervises Production Supervisors, Operations Engineers, and Operations Technicians
* This position assists Americas Production drive toward First Quartile performance in safety, environmental integrity, production optimization and cost management
The Production Operations Team Lead has responsibility for driving change in:
* Production operations - overall supervision and management for selected assets, including planning and execution of safe work practices, maximizing equipment uptime and production rates, maintaining asset integrity
* Operations engineering - supervising and developing Operations Engineers, and managing joint operations with various internal and external organizations
ROLE / RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Build organizational capability in office and field staffs to meet current and future needs
* Achieve EHS goals through active support of policies and initiatives
* Lead and champion safety efforts to attain 1Q performance
Lead environmental integrity efforts to attain 1Q performance:
* Maximize production through maximizing well and facility uptime to attain 1Q performance
* Manage Controllable First Spend to maximize profit, attain 1Q performance and meet corporate goals
* Insure compliance with corporate and governmental regulations
* Actively interface with operators of outside operated properties to insure optimal performance
* Maintain close relationship with support organizations (Subsurface, Drilling & Completions, Developments, Land) to insure unity of purpose
* Participate in new well and facility expansion projects, providing operational input and coordination during planning and execution
* Lead or participate in emergency response activities, as required
Qualifications
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
* 10+ years relevant industry experience, including production operations supervision and engineering
* Proven safety leadership
* Experience with onshore operations
* Experience with operational process improvement projects, for example, LEAN/Six Sigma
* Ability to effectively communicate with management, technical and operations staff
* Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a diverse, multidiscipline team environment
* Requires some travel to remote facilities and occasional out of town meetings
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
