Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist in the installation and maintenance of oilfield electrical and electronic systems including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), instrumentation, power lines, transformers, switchgear, control panels and motors.
ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for input power and motors at SSAU production satellites, batteries, well sites and office
* Troubleshoot control panels and switchgear to keep equipment online
* Address daily trouble reports and communicate status to other operations staff
* Install, troubleshoot and program PLC's. Work closely with operations personnel to make changes in the PLC logic and end devices as the operation dictates
* Troubleshoot SCADA and data communication systems as required for alarm and data reporting through ICONICS
* Identify power supply problems and direct contract crews for repair
* Ensure safety of electrical systems for Hess employees, contractors and general public. Ensure that all safety training and record keeping is current and personal protective equipment is in good operating condition. Ensure that anyone working under immediate supervision is qualified and has the appropriate safety training to perform the task to AHC standards
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE:
* Experience in a similar role
* Familiarity with Oil Industry especially production operations
* Good understanding of PLC's and ladder logic
* Good communication skills - verbal and written
* Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritizing as appropriate
* Self motivator with ability to develop and implement improvements in systems preventative maintenance
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a customer oriented attitude
EDUCATION, SKILL and EXPERIENCE:
* High School education and demonstrated ability
* Technical training in electrical systems and PLC systems
* Experience with Allen Bradley equipment is a plus
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
* May be required to work longer hours during power outages and demanding weather conditions.
* Position will require the candidate to split time between the SSAU in Seminole and the West Bravo Dome field in New Mexico.
