POSITION SUMMARY:
Technician / Line Locator- Applicant will be required to perform line locating duties. Locate underground pipelines, cables & electrical lines.
ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Use specialized equipment to locate, track & mark buried pipelines, cables & electrical lines.
* Relay safety problems or concerns to supervisor.
* Expose lines prior to backhoes digging, Hand digging will be required.
* Ability to coordinate Hydro excavators & backhoes to expose lines.
* Adhere to written operating procedures for line locating & North Dakota One Call procedures.
* Maintain locating equipment.
* Adhere to lockout/ tagout procedures.
* Actively participate in various elements of process safety.
* Conduct daily tailgate safety meetings, JSA's and attend monthly safety meetings.
* Participate in emergency response activities as required.
* Participate in HazOp reviews as required.
* Assist keeping well locations free of trash, weeds, and general clutter
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE:
* Willing to accept responsibility and accountability with a positive attitude.
* Good communication skills.
* Team player
* Knowledge of safety/environmental requirements and practices.
* Must be physically able to climb stairs, walk long distances, hand dig lines, and perform maintenance work, work under air supplied breathing equipment if required.
* Must be willing to work night callouts, weekends and holidays according to the normal operating schedule.
* Must have valid drivers license
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Computer literate.
